It isn't really practical to visit the North as a day trip from Sanur. Possibly 3 hours (3 long hard hours) over the mountains to Lovina, another hour to the North/West, and the same back again! It leaves no time to stop and enjoy. Stay for a night at Pemuteran, you will not regret it. Go via Negara to Pemuteran, stay at the Taman Sari, and return the next day via Lovina. Personally I would stay 2 nights at Pemuteran as it is a lovely quiet relaxing place and I love it! Amed is within reach from Sanur for a day trip, just. I hope this helps.
