You will probably get a lot of help on getting to Lombok from Bali if you had a look at the Lombok Lovers web site. I put a link to a few video clips on the site a few weeks ago relating to Lombok and Bali which might help.
Also the members the forum can come up with more updated info regarding flight or ferry times, also best places to stay.
