If you are going to Borobudur, also try to see Prambanan - quite close. It is a wonderful hindu temple - very old. Nothing like the Balinese ones. Sultan's palace is also good. We also went to Solo and saw the sultan's palaces there (2) and there is a wonderful antique market in Solo, but you'd need to be taking your own Hercules for the loot.
