You purchase the spices etc in sealed bags anyway.
If they are 'lose' in carved box for instance they wont be allowed through.
Saffron flowers (which can sometimes be sold under the impression of being 'strands') are not permitted.
If its in powdered form, no problem.
You can not import coffee (although personal amounts are ok through airport customs).
