One has to be realistic and understand that any airline must make its fare structure sustainable; if not, they will not be in business for the long-haul.

When I cast my mind back many years, these fares are still actually lower than prople were paying ages ago. This is also the very first time, to my knowledge, that ANY airline has introduced special fares which run through until the end of March on the following year.

The surcharges for Shoulder and Peak Seasons are particularly generous when compared with prices previously charged for these periods. Families can now make firm arrangements for the July / September-October / Christmas-New Year school holiday periods and know EXACTLY what the price will be. Garuda is STILL the ONLY airline (except when API was flying) to offer Child Fares up to 16 Years - even if only for Basic Seasonality.

I noted a previous post where it was insinuated that Garuda was becoming greedy and that people may forsake Bali for other Asian destinations. Garuda is not being greedy - just being realistic - bearing in mind that it is a "full-service" carrier.

We market the World and as such are constantly being asked to prepare composite quotes for Bali so that clients can compare costings with other Asian destinations such as Phuket. I can assure you that Bali will ALWAYS be the most cost-effective destination.
