Ex-hoosier here...You need to decide for yourself regarding travelling to Bali. Millions go to Bali without getting hurt. It is similar to our Cancun so picture yourself in Mexico in terms of your chances of getting kidnapped, etc. Kuta is much more on the go than other areas. There have been bombings, obviously, but the amount of deaths vs. visitors is pretty low. If you decide to go have a great time!
