There is this young girl that has been hanging around in Kuta for some time. She is a tourist and seems to be in big trouble: she lost almost all of her belongings including her passport, money and clothes, and she doesn't have a place to stay (not even to take a shower) etc. She's been around for more than a month. No body seems to know what happened to her. All she does all day is mostly sitting around quitely by herself on the steps in front of different shops, usually near Warung 96 restaurant. A lot of people have tried to talk to her, and tried to help her since she doesn't have anything left to survive. But she's very quite and doesn't speak much. People I met said that they tried to give her some food and a place to stay or to take a shower. Sometimes she takes the offers, but mostly she rejects them (although, she always asks people where to take a shower). She is sometimes violent whitout reason - she hit people. The hotels she stayed in, now barring her from going back to her room (reportedly because they're afraid that she's going to do violent things in the hotel like destroying their furniture etc.), so she just stays on the street. She said she didn't sleep for a couple of days. From her accent she seems to be speaking Australian English, but she doesn't say where's she's from. From her behavior, she seems to be mentally ill, but who knows.... She always says that that she'll receive some money tomorrow through a bank transfer from her parents and that she will fly back home. People said that the hotel has reported this case to the australian consulate, and that they're doing some investigation. . I've never seen something like this before, so I don't know what to do. I don't know her personally, but I feel quite strongly that she needs urgent help because now she's really homeless in Kuta and her situation could go worse. What would you do if you were in my position as some one who knows that this is really happening?
