I will get flamed for this but this is just my own thoughts.
I have never experienced being asked for money for illness.
But after my last trip have been put off going back. In previous trips had the usual stall holders trying to rip us off like they do, money changers etc etc, money for excess luggage ending up in the pocket of a garuda worker.
But the last trip! Went to a hang out where a lot of us go. Got ripped off which made my blood boil. Many of us here spend a lot of money at this place and it annoyed me that they bit the hand that feeds them. My partner said dont let it worry me.
Many here will say that is how Bali works but if you went to Coles did shopping and the checkout person put your money in their pocket you would be screaming. I dont understand why so many are happy to be ripped off in so many ways and then want to do more to help???
I love going to Bali but with all the ways they try to scam you has made me very untrusting of all of them. Sorry! But this is how i feel.
They seem to think we are walking money machines and yes i can afford to loose the money but for me its the principle involved.
