Having recently returned from my first trip & realising that I am now in love with Bali, I want to send some kids toys to the staff of Bali Ayu.
On our last day (jan 2nd) I brought out a rubber ball, plastic spade & HUGE pair of toy sunnys, brought from home as a joke for a friend back here.
Many laughs were had as everyone had a photo taken wearing the sunnys. They are now proudly displayed on the shelf behind the bar at Bali Ayu. Made & Jerremy better be getting pics of the new aussie arrivals wearing them!
What facinanted & saddened me was the pure amazement & joy on the faces of these grown men while playing with a simple rubber ball. The toy spade had to be explained & there was no understanding of children playing on a beach making sand castles. Made asked if he could have the ball & spade to give to his baby. I hope his baby learns about sand-castles some time in the near future.
Anyway, this has inspired me to want to send new & used toys (and clothes) to the staff for their children & those of their friends. I have looked at courier fees, but it is quite expensive.
I would like to hear from anyone travelling soon & either staying at Bali Ayu in Seminyak, or near by, who wouldnt mind taking some stuff over with them. Just think of the space it would provide in your bags, for all those bargains you must bring back!!
