I would think that Dewi Sri or Hotel Bounty would be considered inferior to The Legian or The Padma, but they are sold like hotcakes. It doesn't appear that there was an real functional problem with Air Paradise, they simply did not have the funds to continue trading ( when faced the the thousands of cancellations that materialised ).....Garuda Indonesia and Australian Airlines are government backed and subsidised...so there was no problem there. And as far as better service on Air Paradise.....well...I guess that is open to individual preference...but not even having access to the airbridges couldn't have put them exactly ahead of the eight ball !

In any case...you did mention that many are willing to pay more for better service...I wonder if in the future there was a surcharge imposed as a sort of " supplier collapse " insurance would it be acceptable....it certainly seems that there is nothing in place at this stage to protect travellers from things like this....and with the whole chargeback scenario inflicting serious damage to the agents also I would think that everyone concerned would be pleased to see something to this effect brought in.
