Huge GA ticket giveaway supports Bali market with industry-focused initiative
To support the tourism industry in Bali and increase the number of arrivals from Australia, Garuda Indonesia will give away 1600 return airfares* to Bali in one of the biggest promotions ever.
Launching this month, the 'Love Bali' promotion will give Australian residents who purchase tickets to Bali during a given time frame, the chance to win an additional free airfare* for a companion to travel on the same flights and in the same class.
The tickets must be purchased between January 16 and 28 (and issued between 16 and 31 January) from retail travel agents, ticketed direct, through a wholesaler, or via a consolidator. Travel should commence between 13 February and 14 June 2006. Winners will be drawn on February 3.
Everyone who purchases a ticket during these dates and enters the promotional draw - via SMS -, between January 16 and February 2 will have the opportunity to win, says Garuda Indonesia's Regional Manager, South West Pacific, Mr Suranto Yitnopawiro.
'As purchasers of all return fare trips to Bali (except industry fares) will be eligible, consumers of all demographics and budgets are included. In addition, our recently released Early Bird airfares will give travelers the opportunity to experience Bali at a time when prices are at their best, 'Mr. Suranto stated.
'The 'Love Bali' promotion will assist in rebuilding the strong repeat client base that recent events have affected, while allowing the opportunity for new visitors to form a relationship with Australia's most loved destination .The promotion has been deliberately structured to stimulate the market in a way that helps our retail and wholesale partners gain a direct sales benefit. '
'We aim to reward repeat travelers to Bali, and to encourage new visitors so as to strengthen our overall business base.'
Garuda Indonesia will support the promotion with a coordinated public relations and advertising campaign including the distribution of in-store promotional material, via TIFS, all travel agents Australia-wide.
'To maximize the benefits of the promotion to all parties, we seek the assistance of the travel industry in ensuring that qualifying Bali tickets are issued and supplied to customers so they can get their entry for a free airfare recorded within the promotional time frame.
Until recently the Bali leisure market represented 12 per cent of the total holiday market from Australia. We therefore expect the promotion to produce considerable benefits for our retail and wholesale partners.
