Well day two and things are great had a good sleep and feel great waking up in my darlings arms, oh ok she was in my arms but hey it was still a nice feeling to see her face first thing in the morning.
I'm not in a hurry this morning and after a slow start we go to breakie and talk more about plans for the day. Ketut asked last night if there was anywhere I wanted to go this trip but as I said to her as long as we are together I'll be very happy, her smile always makes me feel so good. I think everyone here on the btf would know the beauty in a balanese smile they are just so infectious, and for me Ketuts is just the best.
We enjoy a nice beakie and fresen up in the hotel room before getting one of the drivers from the hotel I always use them or blue taxi's as they are very good and my main man from the hotel has a family and I know he needs the work so I feel like I'm helping him too. I pay the boss for the trip and driver I always give a large tip, well by their standards that is!!
This morning being xmas eve the main thing I want to do is buy Ketut a xmas gift, as this is her first time to celebrate xmas I want to do my best to make it special. She has told me several times she does not want me to spend money on her and feels bad as she has no money to buy me a gift. Well I have told her many times leading up to today that my gift is her love and being in Bali together and yes to anyone that does not believe me, if you could feel the love in my heart for this lady you would not dought it!!
Before going to depasar to the gold marckets where my driver has taken me last trip we are going to uluwatu, sorry if I did not spell it right. and we have a sight seeing walk around this fantastic temple. Its up high on a cliff face and just a magical place. I have a great fear of hieghts and I found myself forgetting this and even hung over the eadge to get some great video on my new video cammera. Oh please can someone tell me is there a temple in Bali that does not have monkey's living around it!!
After a hour or so we head off to the gold markets of depasar, and anyone that likes gold this is the place very good quality and just this fantastic street of shops, all the same but all different.
Well Ketut thought it was great I said to her you pick out something you like and I'll get it, I just stood back and let her go. By the time we hit the third store I think she had tried on about 30 or so bracelets and was having a great time asking me on many occasions do you like this like that. I'm not very good with some things but it apears from my last shopping trip with Ketut I have very good taste in both jewellery and clothing!!
Once purchased I felt a little bad but asked her to give me the bracelet she chose telling her I was going to give it to her tomorrow at xmas. Me just trying in some small way to give her an idea of the gift giving tradition. by this time it is getting towards 1.30 pm so Ketut is a little ready for lunch as am I she drags me down the street stopping at a phone shop to get a sim for my phone as I like to keep in touch with my son back in Australia and Ketut while I'm there, and a few good friends I've made over the last year or so. Lunch get this Ketut took me to KFC, not what I would think of eating while in Bali but her she thought it would be nice, and I got to say having my KFC with rice not fries was very strange but good we actually took lunch back to the hotel.
After lunch we just took it easy with Ketut watching tv and me just relaxing with her watching her, talking about things in Bali and some more about xmas and what tomorrows dinner might be like. about 5.30 we decide to think about the evening ahead and after long thinking we go to Nero's in Legian street for a nice dinner then about 9.30 find a taxi back to the hotel. I think we are both ready for an early night after a busy but really great day.
reiki yes the hotel is the old Ocean blue club I thought I said that in part one and it was an 18 to 35's place the first time I came to Bali in 1989 I still have very happy memories of that trip. Staff are even still there now, about ten are stll there and get this they remembered me by name last year in May after 16 years, these people are truly amazing, how could you not fall in love with these people.
