to make sure you can totally 100% trust this person (and I am saying this knowing I dont know your relationship with this person). As an ex bank officer, if that card is misused (and they can tell - if someone uses a card and a PIN number it is unlikely to be anyone but you will be there thought patern) such as massively overdrawning the account when the bank are offline (such as when the EFT connection sometimes goes down at some time during the night for maintainence and they just need to do a manual transaction to overdraw the account)you maybe held repsonsible for the loss. Just a warning - there are a lot of scams in the world that Australians rarely get to know about (thankfully).
