at the various options of PS2's before we went in November and then looked around at different places we went while we were in Bali.
We didn't go out of our way just asked and looked when we went to Discovery and at a local DVD/PS2 shop on Yudistra St (old Padma St) and then when we went into Denpasar at Ramyana and also at a place we get our DVD's called Sakura which have electrical stuff downstairs.
Ended up with the one from Sakura, it is a slimline - chipped for coppy games, two controllers, an inonesian power plug and one for Australia so we could play it overthere and at home and ten free games all up it was a few dolloars of $300.
We discussed the overheating issue with the guy at the shop and he said it shouldn't be a problem but if we wanted to we could be a fan (bit like a portable exhaust fan) which plugs in and sits at the back of the PS2 console and extracts all the heat, he said he uses it upstairs on the DVD's which he has running all the time for people to test fiscs if they want to. He didn't actually sell these fans but told us where to go about 50m away and how much to pay - about $6.00.
We did purchase one of these because when we were looking around over in Perth a guy told us about the overheating of the slim lines and suggested a fan system which he said you can purchase on ebay for about $30.00 from memory.
Anyway we haven't given the system a real workout yet because it is a Chrissy Prezzy but Phil has set it up and tryed a number of the games and all seem well.
