if you are looking for an alternative to Jimbaran, I've seen mention on here that a place called Echo Beach, 30mins north of Legian, also has the bbq seafood on the beach thing happening. Apparently it is nowhere near as busy as Jimbaran with only a few places there, so it may also be more relaxing. If you do a search of the forum you might find some details about it, including how to get there
