Please help, extending a short stay visa

We flew in last week and were planning on staying 5 days. The good news is we talked our traveling companions out of Thailand and into Bali, so our stay will now be 10 days. We bought a 7 day visa on arrival and now need to extend. Can we do this at the airport when we go to pickup our friends?
