we have stayed at Padma once and Mandira twice. If you want more personal you definitely want Mandira. Cannot fault it. Breakfast is maybe not quite as extensive as Padma but is certainly wonderful. Much quieter, much nicer pools (there are 2, Padma has one). The upstairs infinity pool and spa is just beautiful. Could go on forever. There is no choice - Mandira.
