Thanks for your point of view, I can see where you are coming from and I don't think this is the case, well I hope not any way. He never asked for money It was my choice. I went to his village on the back of his bike,He paid for the fuel. And yes i believe they are poor by my standards as I do have many other balinese friends of which I have seen their villages and their rooms they stay in in Denpasar and are very different to the family I am giving money to. Ketut shares a room with 2 cousins and they all sleep on the floor on piles of material, and yet he see's that this is ok and quite the norm. If i only send a small amount of money in my eyes to help 1 family in Bali I am happy with that, because when I go there I spend my whole entire time with him and also visit his family a few times, and have the best holiday I could ever ask for. He looks out for me in many ways. I know a lot of you will freak out when I a tell you this part, This is how much I trust him when I am in Bali we go night clubbing everynight Ketut takes us and I give him my bumbag with all my money. Then every drink I order he pays for it for me. Not once have I ever been ripped off by him and I feel safer him having it than it getting pulled off me by the many bag snatchers in bali. Prior to meeting Ketut I was a bit scared out at night being just girls now I have awsome holiday's and feel very safe. And have learnt many things about Balinese culture and learning to speak Bahasa fluently for the last 12 months.. Love it...Cant wait to be back there again. Oh and also I only send money to him when i can and it probably only just covers the cost of the sms's he sends to me everyday for a year.
