The bank put a block on one of our cards while we were in Bali because someone had tried to use the details on the internet. It happened before we had a chance to even use it in Bali, so it had been compromised in Australia.
I'm told a large % of CC fraud originates within the banking sector itself. Not sure how true that is but it would explain why they don't hassle too much about covering the losses.
