Don't even think about carrying in a pouch around your neck. When we went in 98 we were told to carrying our passports and my husband had them around his neck in a cotton money pouch. As he sweats profusely when we got back from a day out our passports were very wet and it took 3 days to dry them out. I am surprised that mine is still being accepted.
