Most of the sellers only deal in cash. Some shops offer credit card but not all.
Just take your local currency and change into rupiah at one of the safe money changers (eg most Kodak shops and PT Kuta Central), or access your accounts in Bali via ATM.
Melasti Beach resort is a great hotel. We have stayed there and happily stay there again. There are 3 pools, restaurant on the beachfront, well run and excellent position, close to markets, shops, restaurants etc.
