We got ours this way, got them within 30 days of travel when myers had them on special + we got my son's staff discount and still claimed the GST/Tax back. You only need the product not the packaging as they have to view it to make sure it leaves the country. Make sure your 1 receipt is $300 or more to get the GST back, doesn't matter if you buy batteries or other accessories to boost up the receipt. Read this site carefully as i think you have to claim the tax back so many hours before you board the plane. The money gets put into your visa account within a few days. I think it is better to buy at home for warranty.
We got 2 ipods and cases/covers and my digital camera all on the 1 receipt. You are able to open and try before you leave(saves wasting the holiday and missing out on photos and ipods can be loaded with music)
