Hi, my best friend and I (we're two college students) went to Bali and Java this May for 2 weeks. It was absolutely the best vacation ever. We didn't even meet any Americans there, most tourists were Europeans and Australians. But we felt completely safe and had a great time there. The Balinese and Indonesians really didn't have any negativity towards Americans. Everywhere we went, we told people we're from the States and the responses were normal. Keep us posted with your decision and your travel report!
