First, I would say that I seldom see a lot of Americans in Bali when I visit, so seeing 'hadrdly any' in the post summer season isn't surprising anyway.
Second, I'm an annual visitor in Bali and around Indonesia. Have never felt any animosity from the people-- Balinese or Javanese that i came in contact with.
And last,I sort of feel that the government warnings, are issued on a CYA basis, and would be really surprised at any targetingin of individual Americans on a Tourist level.
That's my 3 cents worth.
