Obviously to get more details you'd have to study each individual and question/psychoanalyse them. Since we're looking at general patterns here, not every statement is going to be 100% true for each individual.
I definitely think it would be a mistake to dismiss poverty and a lack of education as factors making it easier to be manipulated, even if its not true of each individual participant.
