I know how you feel, I was on my way to Bali via Malyasia when 2002 bombing occured. Rang the numbers provided and like you had no luck, no-one seemed interested. Contacted our Adel based travel agent who said if we paid up front they could change our plans to Thailand (this was all happening while we were stranded in Pengang and be told on a daily basis by Aust Consultate to get home asap). All Malaysian flights back to Aust were booked out and we ended up having to pay for flight to Singapore then to Perth and then home to Adel. All up out of pocket expenses were approx $5000-6000. Didn't get airfare refund, no reimbursement for one way tickets back to auss. Went to see lawyer and were advised we would have to make claim via small claims court. The lesson I learnt was never trust airlines or travel agents! Hence I'm heading off to Bali on 16 Oct this time around as per my original plans.
