You must have some sort of software to download digital photos. All have a camera icon that you click and you get a menu that asks where are the images , in the camera, DVD or CD etc. The software will display the thumbnails and copy them to the hard drive if you want to. I have Elements 3 and JASC photoshop 9 software, as well as Dimage that came with the camera. Good luck, I can guarantee you still have the images on your disk.
