we've stayed there the last three years -got back about 6 weeks ago-and our balinese friend was always pulled up at the front by the security guard. They would also ring our room before letting her come up and the security guard out the front would take her ID card/licence until she came back.
That said, a couple of times she returned to the front to find the security guard had disappeared.
I'd like to think they are being more vigilant now but obviously I'm back so I can't say.
