SC was found guilty, had no evidence in her defense and a big bag of dope. Things might change on appeal.
Many bombers have been caught and some will be shot. Prisoner remissions are for ALL prisoners who have behaved well and aren't serving life or waiting to be shot. There is a current review regarding whether they will be available for those convicted under terrorism laws in the future.
The police are corrupt. Maybe even all of them. They pay 20 million Rp to get the job and then get paid half a million per month. They need to supplement their incomes to pay back the loan they took out to get the job. That means they will fine you for something you didn't do and take a few bucks in bribe money. It doesn't mean they sit on their asses and let terrorists go. They've caught more terrorists than any other country. Give them some friggin' credit.
SBY wasn't even President at the time of the last bombings, though he was a Minister of Security. What statement could he have made other than "We're gonna catch them"? What President of any country would say, "Ah, screw it, let them go"? Seriously, you guys...
Azhari and Noordin Top need to be caught, no question. The police have been trying for three years. They are two men in a vast archipelago, densely populated in some parts and dense jungle in others. Bin Laden couldn't be caught in a desert when he was surrounded and they had him pinned down to a radius of a few kilometers (or so the reports said). It's not an easy task.
I respect the decision of anyone who chooses to avoid Bali now or forever. But please base your decisions on real information, and avoid passing around the dodgy Cornflakes box.
