I don't think anyone is disputing that this is a terrible, sensless, criminal act. It is shocking beyond belief. Personally suicide bombers scare me even more than the first bombing in 2002.
I read the original post as a response to many of the previous threads where people were discussing how the bombings have affected tourist numbers in the area. I wanted to give an eye-witness response. I get pissed at the Australian media for trying to make a horrible situation worse.
Everyone is affected by this event. We personally are shattered. I have friends in Bali who have lost loved ones, and have family in hospital. If tourist do stay away my own family will be seriously affected. Not only are they trying to cope with an 87.5% petrol price rise on October 1st, but a severe drop in tourism can mean literal starvation for them.
