Bali is just so special that we have all hung on and continued going because of how we rationalised the night club bombings. But families at restaurants? How many times did I walk past that very spot with my child just 2 weeks ago?
There are many other places to go to and I suppose this will just make us have to go there instead of returning to Bali as we do. I just cannot imagine not going there. At any point in time I have either just got back or am planning my next trip, however far into the future that may be. It is so strange to not be planning "anything" just a big void.
My friend just returned on last night flight. She has now been there for both bombings. Funnily enough I sms'd her only a minute after the bombing (as I had not heard from her for a while) and my words were "are you alive"! I didn't know a bomb had just gone off. It was then she replied and told me what had happened and I posted on here on sat night. Wow. Well she says that by the time they left on Monday she felt really bad about leaving, but knew she had to take the family home. She says she will return cos you can't let the b*&^%$ds win -and I feel the same, but how long will we have to wait until we feel safe. I mean Israel is another place where I woul dlike to go but I know that I would never feel safe there.
