When maintenance kicked in.
I think it has all been said but I'll post it anyway in the hope it might help people.
I can understand that.
I have friends asking me advice on decent boots as they are now treking three miles a day from South to North London (I live just outside London)rather than risking the transport system. I've grown up with this but my views differ from some of my best friends.
For what its worth, my view is that what will be will be. I almost lost my life in a nasty motorcycle accident 11 years ago which resulted with several months in hospital with a multiple fractured spine (amongst other more minor injuries) I still suffer from those.
That, oddly, makes me less cautious. I was back on a bigger bike asap.
I don't take my existence for granted now but denying a pleasure as it has an element of danger seems a bit short sighted. The odds are still remote.
I had a reply to an e-mail to a local friend in Bali yesterday which would have been tear stained if it had been hard copy. My words are inadequate to try and help him deal with his distress, although I had a go :)
BUT I dont have children. So I might think differently If I had. I really dont know.
I know this has been said before, I assume, but the hypocrisy of the foreign office offering no travel warnings to Madrid or London but in Hindu Bali BOSH straight in. I don't have an answer but please dont feel guilty for the choice you make. It is not an easy call.
