I am also going to Bali for the first time, departing from London tomorrow. It never ocurred to me to cancel my trip when I heard the news. This may be because of a small perspective I have developed since the London bombings in July: life gets back to 'normal' very quickly. It has to - this is the only way to emotionally defeat terrorism.
My understanding from my hotels in Kuta and Ubud is that the Balinese need our visits, and that it is, as much as possible, 'business as usual'.
I suppose one has to ask: would you have cancelled a trip to New York after September 11th?
I hope Dulce, you have faith and go to Bali as planned : )
