Okay, you're not crazy, but I think you are being a bit reckless. I was in Bali in early Sept. If I was facing the decision you're facing, there is no question I would postpone my trip, at least until the Indo government has completed the investigation and, hopefully, has arrested the two suspects at large. Bali isn't that big of a place and it becomes even smaller when you focus your attention on areas frequented by tourists, which is what the terrorists have done. Furthermore, the government has lead a mostly superficial campaign against terrorists. I am deeply disappointed that more hasn't be done in the wake of the last Bali bombing, but the government appears to be too timid in the face of a Muslim majority to seriously crack down on terrorism.

Things will calm down, but I would at least wait until the smoke has cleared and I would definitely wait until the cryptic warnings of more attacks are properly investigated (assuming they are). Personally, it is the peace and serenity of Bali that I find most appealing. If I've got my head on a swivel, nervously eyeing everyone in my vicinity with a backpack, it wouldn't be the same.

Presumably you're an adult and are capable of assessing risk and making your own decisions. If you told me you were travelling to Bali with children, I would think of you as an irresponsible parent and consider your decision to be unbelievably selfish.
