Some of my relos didn't want me to go to the Olympics either- I will never forget that atmosphere I took my youngest and he often mentions the few days we were there. Today I am telling the ones that are bugging me that no I'm not going to bali instead I'm going to Sierra Leone and they reply "ah good". Can't wait till they realise how bad it is there - then I can say "Oh well I better go to Bali as planned" lol
