We stayed just recently, in one of the new rooms. New safe was in the wardrobe and had a laminated chart explaining how to use, but the guy showed me anyway, and it was a bit different sequence to what I was used to, so I am glad he did. He stressed that we be careful to follow the sequence carefully and not to forget the number we chose, as there were only two staff at management level who could help us if we forgot, which could be difficult if they were both unavailable the morning we were checking out. (This place has a range of staff with staggered starting times during the day, hence the provision of good service at all times). We adore Tegal Sari and will be going back again for sure. Stayed in room 22, one of the upstairs new rooms, and we were in seventh heaven. (I would also recommend their fantastic nasi campur at their restaurant!)If you want to read my recent review of the hotel do a search on all these words- 'kiwi carol' and 'tegal sari ubud' -and it will pop up.
