Just got back from 8 day shopping trip, used this forum to choose the Pelangi. You guys who think this place is good perhaps need to get out a bit more often (I say that kindly..). Its long and deep (being on a slim size parcel of land) and has no central focus, a small pool, and no entertainment to speak of.
I cannot beleive the management refuses to allow taxis to the desk, instead you walk 5 mins (rain, hail or shine) to thr closest corner, this assists the mini van mafia out the front whom pay a fee to hotel to be there. I used these guys one day and then learnt my lesson, got overcharged and a bad attitude. My other driver told me how they would hit taxi drivers who collected from pelangi and even intimidate others who were simply dropping off. If thats how management looks after guests then good luck to them.
The posts about the breakfasts were right - simply disgusting bacon frazzled to a crisp (Im assuming to make sure it was salmonella free, as it looked and tasted days old). Rest of food just passable.
Cost me AU$1000 for 9 nights, having stayed at hard rock before for about the same price cannot beleive i even tried pelangi.
The only saving grace was that the staff were very friendly. Could go on but hope the more mindful get the picture -spend your money elsewhere until this place shapes up.
