Hi..just like to share an experiance re travel insurance...been to bali many times and still get excited when picking up tickets and all other paperwork and a always say "must have a read of my travel insurance when i get there" of course you arrive settle in have your first swim and and a bintang at the swim up bar and reading something with small writing and many clauses does not come to mind===how wrong i was not to read===my wife i and i just returned last week after 17 wounderful days and about 6 hours before we were due to fly home my wife slipped and fell on some stairs as we were going to get some dinner before we checked out and badly hurting her ankle to the state she was unable to walk..hotel staff went into meltdown due to the accident on hotel grounds and helped with a wheelchair and strapping which amounted to an old bed sheet cut up..time was running out to get to airport so i felt getting medical attention when we got home the next morning would be my first priority rather than attemting something around kuta===how wrong i was on arrival sunday we went to our local medical centre for help.he then advised x rays and wheelchair also physio later in the week===i called my travel insurance for advice on recouping some costs only to be told that once the wheels of the aircraft touch down in oz thats the end of cover you our on your own even though you would be saving insurance co money compared with bali medical?? costs===moral of the storey :hold off on the bintangs and read your insurance policy then have a good holiday and stay safe..cheers
