Yep stay a coupld days in Sanur when you first get there. Ubud is Beautiful and has everything you will need (market on corner of monkey forest road are a good place to get the basics) no ocean though!!
Yes you can get everything you will need for your kids there. Depending on age. Wipes etc. If they have fav foods, bring them but you will most likely be fine getting what you need
