Hi Charlz

We've used all options of converting $AU to rupiah over the years.

Most recently, last year, we used a combination of cash and debit card. This caused quite ascare on our first night as I had to try around5 machines before one would accept my card. You can imagine my panic at this stage as most of our funds were in that account. It all worked out in the end and if I had a problem I found another machine.

The fee of $5 per transaction is ridiculous and like, I think, Pauline said I have no idea of exchange rate.

For us this year I think we'll go back to a small amount of cash and the rest in Travellers cheques. The exchange rate is usually wround 50 - 500rp less than for cash. Not enough to be concerned about.
