Garuda will, I am certain, grow again from strength-to-strength.

I have flown with them to Bali twice in the past month. Aircraft used on all sectors was spotless and happily the audio-visual problems often experienced in the past were no longer evident. I walked through both Business and Economy Class cabins on all flights and there was not one television screen which was not functioning 100% correctly!

Crews also seem to have a much more positive attitude. Under the previous CEO/President, there was a constant decline in routes/services which surely caused anxiety and uncertainly "throughout the ranks". I flew both Executive and Economy Class sectors so was able to accurately gauge service levels. On the DPS/MEL sector last Monday night, the Purser walked through the Economy Class cabin asking passenters about their meals - so refreshing to see.

Naturally, as with any carrier, they can not continue to operate unprofitable services. Perhaps they were a bit over-optomistic with respect to Brisbane - particularly as the route is also serviced by Air Paradise International.

Adelaide passengers have no cause for concern as I travelled the previous Friday between Adelaide and Melbourne with the Garuda General Manager for Victoria and South Australia and had discussions about the future plans.
