Scales at Jimbaran Bay

Read a JBR below and it was stated that the scales were out by 50% and they found this out by doing "the water bottle trick". What does a bottle of aqua weigh (I am presuming a small bottle) so as to gauge the acuracy of the scales. Does the bottle have the weight printed on it, as I have never taken any notice before? I hope this doesn't sound dumb :) Any hints or tactics would be much appreciated as I don't want to get ripped off (again) whilst eating at Jimbaran Bay.
