Forum Friends,
My wife and I have the great pleasure to visit Singapore>Thailand>Bali during the month of Sept '05. I'll be presenting hydroponic and fish farming research and holding a workshop at an international soilless culture conference in Singapore during the week Sept 5-9. (email me personally if you want more info on the conference). Afterwards we plan to travel to Thailand for 10 days and then to Bali for the final 10 days. We have to fly out of Singapore on Sept 30. How fortunate we are. Thank you all for your input on the forums that have already helped us so much. Our itenerary looks something like this:
Singapore>BKK(5days)>Chaing Mai(5days)>Bali Beach(5days)>
Bali Ubud(5days)
The only reservations we have made is in Ubud, Bali at the Tegal Sari. We will stay there Sept 25,26,27 and 28. I read some of you may be there then, too. Hope to see you there.
We are from St. Croix, USVI, an island se of Puerto Rico in the Caribbean. Since we already live in a sub-tropical island environment, we are only interested in beach areas during our Sept 20-25 stay in Bali. My wife is looking for a relaxing place during that stay to "chill" after Thailand. I'd like a place where I can watch world-class surfers riding world class waves. We would love to stay near one of the top snorkeling beaches, as we are both avid swimmers/snorkelers. Swimming is part of our weekly exercise so I would love to find a villa or bungalow near a great snorkel spot.
We are 30"somethings", ex-hippie-folk, now jeweler and agri researcher. No Kids!! Yet! Looking to cool out, or they say in the Caribbean "lime", for four nights.
So, we are open to suggestions. I am begining to research this piece of trip. Where would I best see massive surfers riding massive waves. the kind I can't find here. I'd probably be doing some boogie-boarding while there!! (at least somewhere safe)...
I here of the Uluwata area for this, but I'm also looking for a great snorkeling beach nearby.
Anyone have any great suggestions for Sept 21-25?? I'm not looking to island hop for the surf. basically want privacy, huge surf to watch and snorkeling for exercise.
Very much looking forward to your advice,
I-Charlie
ps-with a schedule like this:
Singapore>BKK(5days)>Chaing Mai(5days)>Bali Beach(5days)>
Bali Ubud(5days)>Singapore
I am trying to budget to get around. Can anyone give me ideas of the following rates for economy airfare(a rough idea):
sing>>bkk (one way)
sing>>bkk>>sing(rt)
sing>>bali>>sing (rt)
bkk>>bali
Chaing Mai>>bali
Bali>>Sing
Can you recommend a good agent, or should I handle these asian flights when I arrive in Singapore?
