Arrival - what to expect?

I have my first trip to Bali coming up in 4 weeks and was just wondering on what to expect when you arrive at the airport? How does it all work i.e. customs, passport, luggage, VOA, porters? I have never been overseas before so all of this is relatively new to me. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanx
