negativity around you on your FIRST OS trip. Thing is Bali is not everyone's cup of tea. You either love it or hate it. I'll bet all those negative comments are coming from people who have never been, or have, but didn't like it because it was too basic for them. The latter group didn't open their eyes to see the soul of Bali. This soul is why we keep returning and why you will fall in love with the place also (albeit perhaps after a 3 day culture shock).
I know plenty of highly intelligent people that are visiting Bali this year, so it is not only dummies ignoring recent events that are returning. After your visit you can enlighten your killjoys as to why it was so worth ignoring them and going. Even more reason to have an even better time - just to prove them WRONG!!!
P.S. We are all getting those comments. Best to not reply, but seek some comfort from this forum daily!!!
