Cannot post a reply in answer to Sri further down for some reason, so I am posting this new message.

I work in the Court system in Australia & there seems to be a strange attitude with regard to these drug arrests. I make the following points:

1. The judges' can only adjudicate on evidence heard at the trial. Decisions must be made by these learned men as to the admissibility and/or weight given to certain testimony.

2. It is the judges' responsibility to inform the accused of all the possible outcomes of their deliberations. This is not being unnecessarily cruel.

3. Being Australian does not mean that you are obviously innocent, every person must play by the rules of any country that you are visiting.

I have probably trodden on a few toes here but I am not casting judgement upon anyone here, just reminding all to stick to the realities and not to let emotion carry you away.
