Have just returned from Bali and being a wine drinker I was checking out most of the already mentioned bottle shopse.

The place which I found had the best selection was Bali Deli in Seminyak.

They have a good selections of wines from australia and around the world. They also sell cask wine - Stanley Dry White, Banrock Station Chardonnay, Renmano Chardonnay & also a red, along with the Chilean cask wine. Prices were around 200,000 - 250,000.

In additon to that there is a large selection of bottled wine, but prices vary.

As to champagne which is my favourite drink. Regrettably they only had one Australian champagne available last week which was Yarra Glen [i think] and it retailed at around 330,000rp per bottle. It is a lovely drop but a little high in price considering you can purchase it with a meal at La Lucciola for almost the same price.

Best wines in Kerobokan has a good selection of bottled wine, however they only had minchibury champagne for around 200,000 which I thought was ridiculous. Maybe they were out of stock of other lines which Angie C has told me they carry in the past.

I found one other wine shop which is in the Mecure hotel on Kuta beach. They had a nice choice of wine as well except again only one aust champagne which was Wolf Blass Cuvee Brut. I think the price was between 250 - 300,000. However, their spirit prices are very competitive and they were selling Wild Turkey for 200,000 some 60,000 cheaper than Best wines and Bali Deli.

French champagne is easier to come by but prices start ar around 600,000 for Mumms or Moet & Chandon going up.

Here's a tip. Go to Indo-national restaurant. They sell Carrington champagne [I think the price on the menu is 150,000 per bottle]. You may be able to ask if they have a spare bottle they can sell you.

I dont know what aust champers your friend likes to drink but
if it isnt one of the ones I have mentioned then it may not currently be available over there. I suggest she takes a couple of favourites with her and then checks out the shops listed. Hope this helps and cheers....hic! Hic!
