does ONLY Indonesian food. Menu includes 2 rijstaffels - one Balinese, the other Indonesian, for approx Aus$12. Its on Jl Kartika Plaza, beach side, north of Ramada Bintang. ?Out front of Santika Hotel - someone actually posted it was part of that hotel. The food is delightful, the decor, service and cleanliness faultless.

Bumbu Bali in Nusa Dua gets good press and is apparently worth the taxi ride - will be trying it out myself in June.

Look up balieats.com for more suggestions. I'm with you re savouring the local cuisine. I enjoy my vegemite toast for breakfast, but nasi goreng beats it any day. Unfortunately alot of restaurants have toned down their spiciness to cater for the western palates and seemed to be limited to sates and goreng.
