I rang Viva today. "Yes your booking does mean compulsory land content with us the whole time you are in Bali. Oh hang on, at first glance it looks like that! There may be a POSSIBILITY that you only have to purchase 4 days accommodation. You will have to check which fare your travel agent has booked you on. We can not discuss any more details with you due to privacy laws!" Mmm

Rang TA (spoke to her junior)to ask difference in fares if not booking ALL of land content - "just out of curiosity, I don't want to change booking". When she rang back I was informed that this fare could be used for only 4 days of accommodation! Mmm

My conclusion.
1.Senior TA misread VIVA's condition when making our booking (although TA was VERY quick to inform us all land content was compulsory). OR
2. Because we are repeat business several times she thought it was better to come clean. Nothing to lose now as booking is not going to change.
3. According to VIVA holidays THERE ARE compulsory all land content fares. Whether yours IS actually one, only the TA can tell you!

btw Garuda have not announced increase in fares due to fuel price rises YET.
