You can go and look at the Bali Memorial Site which is in Legian Street, almost at the top end of Poppies 2 lane. There are heaps of restaurants in Kuta. If it looks busy you can count on that one being a good restaurant. I can recommend the Green Garden Spa and have the Royal Bali treatment I think it is called. 2 and a half hours of heaven for 242,000 rp. (under $40). They will pick you up from your hotel and drop you home, all included in the price.

Macro is a good place to go first off and get all your water, drinks and snacks. Very cheap and well worth the visit. Hope this helps a bit
